What is The Institute of Transformational Nutrition?
What is Transformational Nutrition?
How was this certification program created?
Is the Institute of Transformational Nutrition accredited?
ITN is recognized as an approved school by the National Association of Nutrition Professionals, which means that you will be eligible to sit for the NANP Board Exam in Holistic Nutrition after graduation. We even include a bonus Board Exam Prep Course that will provide a thorough curriculum review and practice questions to leave you feeling 100% confident about your knowledge. You'll be ready to pass with flying colors and add a "Board Certified" credential after your name!
We are also accredited by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.
How long is this program?
The ITN certification program is designed to take 8 months. However, it's completely self-paced and you'll have lifetime access, meaning you can take as much or as little time as you need to finish your certification.
How will I learn and be tested during the ITN certification program? Is there a final at the end?
Because we are dealing with people’s health, it’s important for us to ensure that you truly understand and can apply what you’re learning.
We offer a test at the end of each module, with the exception of the coaching modules, to assess your ability to apply what you’ve learned in the real world. You must pass with a 70% or higher. If your test result is lower than 70% you will have the opportunity to re-test.
For the coaching modules, we provide you with case study assignments where you can pair up with another ITN student or a friend or family member to practice the techniques you've learned. These assignments are graded as complete or incomplete and must be submitted in order to achieve your certification.
What will I learn?
The curriculum is made up of the three pillars of Transformational Nutrition – Science, Psychology, and Spirituality.
Business & Coaching Skills
In addition to 17 core training modules in Science, Psychology, and Spirituality, you will also receive 12 additional training modules in the areas of Business and Coaching. Each module has worksheets and guides to ensure you are getting the most out of the material.
Which dietary philosophy does the program focus on or encourage?
At ITN, we actually teach over 150 dietary theories. At the core of what we believe is bio-individuality – that there’s not one perfect diet for everyone. People need to do what is right for their body and for the stage of life they’re in. It’s critical to learn that clients have different nutritional needs if they have an illness, versus if they’re perfectly healthy. A premenopausal woman requires different nutrients (and thus a different diet) than a woman who is post-menopausal. We cover all of these scenarios in the curriculum, including special nutritional needs for performance-based nutrition for athletes, surgery, disease, and more. Additionally, we teach life stage nutrition, where we talk about the different nutritional needs for every stage of life from infants through seniors.
While we do give recommended guidelines, such as buying organic whenever possible and avoiding processed foods for example, it doesn’t matter which diet your clients choose as long as their nutritional needs are met. We firmly believe that someone’s diet is a personal choice.
Is this program for beginners who know nothing about nutrition or is it for seasoned health and nutrition professionals?

We’ve provided you with marketing materials, meal plans, recipes, supplement recommendations and more in order to effectively run these programs for paying clients and get them results FAST.
Additionally, most of our students feel comfortable beginning one-on-one coaching after completing the science modules and receiving some business and coaching training, which is accomplished by about the 3-4 month mark on average.
What happens after I graduate?
Following your graduation from ITN, you will receive a beautiful certificate as a Certified Transformational Nutrition Coach, signed by Cynthia Pasquella. We will also provide you with an official CTNC badge to display proudly on your website, business cards, or any other promotional material.
As a graduate, you will be eligible and prepared to sit for the Board Exam in Holistic Nutrition through the NANP, if you choose. Graduates in the US will also have the ability to resell pharmaceutical grade supplements from Designs For Health® as an additional stream of income.
You will also receive lifetime access to the latest and greatest training materials (in our humble opinion) as well as our private Facebook community for continued support and learning so you can keep growing and getting better – even after you graduate!
Do I have to live in Southern California or move there to take classes?
I live internationally, can I apply the content of the business modules or are they more country oriented?
I live in a state or country with strict nutrition coaching regulations. Will I still be able to work as a Transformational Nutrition Coach in my area?
ITN is geared towards an international student population and so you can absolutely apply the business and coaching strategies no matter where you live.
Additionally, law in any US state does not prohibit coaching. There are many health coaches legally practicing, even in "red" states (the ones with licensure laws). We offer a clear education on coaching methods and techniques, all of which fall within the guidelines of a coach and also provide information about nutrition and dietetics licensing laws so that every student will move on from the program equipped with the knowledge and tools they need to successfully operate as a nutrition coach, while staying within the legal guidelines!
