Content — whether you love it or hate it, you gotta have it to be a successful entrepreneur! #truth
Content can seem time-consuming, intimidating, and if you have a case of the writer’s block, just forget about it altogether!
We totally get it! “Content is king,” as they say but they forget to mention that content can be a pain in the booty!
Because we believe so deeply in YOU and all the amazing things you have to share with the world, we are here to support you while you find your content footing, and we’ll be the little voice in your ear saying, “you’ve got this!”
Just kidding, we’ll be the little voice in your ear saying, “Get out of your own way and share your brilliance already, you talented little rockstar, you!”
While we’re on the topic of content, we really don’t want to see you spend your precious time building all this content and make it so #basic that no one wants to read it. (Sorry, but tough love is going to help you here.)
If you’re going to put time into creating content, you must make sure that instead of putting your audience to sleep, it can make them laugh, cry, and come back for more.
Hang on because we have three questions to help make your content stand out and rock your audience’s socks off. But first, let’s talk about Billy Idol!
BILLY IDOL PUNS
Let’s be honest, Billy Idol isn’t known for his love ballads, nor did he get famous for singing about slow dancing with your significant other.
Oh no! He went the rebel route and wrote a song about dancing by yourself!
And guess what? It worked! It made a splash, and now he’s living his best life with plenty of “Mony, Mony!”
Puns aside, if you want to stand out and you don’t want to say what all the other coaches in your industry are saying, you gotta let out your rebel yell! (This can also be very therapeutic. Go ahead, give it a try!)
Here are three powerful questions to answer to help you create content that isn’t #basic and that will make your audience say (“with a rebel yell”) more, more, more!
CONTENT BILLY IDOL WILL WANT TO SING ABOUT
1. WHAT’S EVERYONE IN YOUR INDUSTRY TALKING ABOUT AND HOW CAN YOU SAY IT DIFFERENTLY?
Think about your industry, your audience, and your focus, what are the heavy hitting topics right now within those areas?
This may take some time and research to figure out what everyone else is talking about; however, it will be time well spent.
Once you get a handle on what the big topics of the moment are, brainstorm ways to flip it around and offer a fresh perspective, say it differently, or perhaps go completely against it!
Don’t just make something up to stand out, make sure you’re still speaking your truth and offering your audience something helpful.
2. HOW CAN YOU BE THE REBEL IN AN INDUSTRY CRAWLING WITH #BASIC COACHES?
There are a million coaches on the scene now (which is excellent news!) That being said, you don’t want your words to be washed away with all the others.
Get clear on how you can uniquely portray yourself and your business. How can you make your audience laugh or how can you make them really feel something?
It’s okay to gain inspiration from those around you — take that inspiration and shape it into something that’s your own. Something that stands out!
3. WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM THE OTHERS?
No need to be humble when you’re journaling about this question! Be honest and get creative! Maybe you help your clients to get over anxiety and stress by learning how to ride a unicycle while juggling!
Or perhaps you swear like a sailor to get the point across but are a big teddy bear and your client’s number one fan! Do you see how these set you apart from the others?
LET OUT YOUR REBEL YELL
You’ll find that the more you create content that isn’t snooty and is more real, it’ll soon become second nature to you.
Before you know it, creating content will become fun and something you look forward to doing! And that is exactly what we want for you!
Stand out, be bold, and share who you truly are with your audience! (They are going to LOVE you!)
