Health Coaching: A Pandemic-Proof Career

Health Coaching: A Pandemic-Proof Career

As we learn more about COVID-19 (a form of Coronavirus), it is clear we’re living in extraordinary times. With countries, corporations, and companies all trying to do their part to slow the spread, remote work is becoming the new reality for many.

While some people can transition quickly to what will hopefully be a short period out of the office, others – especially those in the retail, event service, restaurant, airline, and manufacturing sectors to name a few – cannot.

Which means these people are most likely to suffer financially.

While we can’t predict the future, what we know now is that there is one career that appears to be pandemic (and recession) proof – health and nutrition coaching.

In fact, health and nutrition coaching is in high demand during this current time of confusion and concern. People all across the globe are turning to their coaches for guidance, education, and support.

They want simple, practical solutions to staying well such as straightforward answers on what to eat and how to stay healthy. They are looking for real-life ways to support their mental health and spiritual health at a time when they could be out of work, caring for children at home, and unsure of the right next step to take.

In fact, ITN graduate and coach, Brandi Mackenzie is an example of just how much people are looking for help. Today, she had this to say, “I signed my highest paying client ever last week. It was $22k package—paid in full, up front!”

While nutrition and health coaching has always been a rewarding career, coaches are now able to find an even deeper meaning of purpose in the work they’re doing.

When helping children understand how to respond to scary news, television host, Mr. Rogers is famous for quoting the line from his mother, “Look for the helpers.” In this day and time, coaches are the helpers.

In fact, during times like this, coaches see an increase in clients needing their help and they’re even more connected to the reason they wanted to become a coach in the first place.

Coaches are also well equipped for online life and work. It doesn’t matter if you’re a life, business, mental wellness, or nutrition coach – you have the skills and resources to continue running your businesses online – even in the face of a pandemic.

Everything from scheduling appointments, building your brand through social media, conducting client sessions, and even administrative tasks can be accomplished completely online. Plus, you have access to a global audience that needs your help.

The demand for health coaching has risen 38% in the last few years and is continuing to grow, despite global crises. In fact, it’s predicted to grow another 21% by 2022 – faster than all other industries on average.

So whether you’re looking to protect yourself and your family with answers instead of questions, or you want to have a more meaningful career where you make a great income, enjoy a flexible schedule, and become one of the helpers, it’s clear that coaching is the powerful, pandemic-proof solution.
