4 Reasons The Celery Juice Craze Is Here To Stay

Drinking celery juice has become a bit of a health craze lately, but not without good reason! Celery is a highly accessible food that is affordable to purchase organic and in bulk. Celery is easy to juice, and the juice itself contains a high amount of nutrients per glass, making it a great health food for those on a budget.

In addition to being filled with vitamins, studies have also shown that consuming celery seeds, stalks, and juice can help ease certain health conditions, like high blood pressure!

This is because celery stalks and seeds contain chemicals that can relax the artery walls. Celery juice is also a common staple in certain holistic healing protocols recommended for conditions like candida (yeast overgrowth), diabetes, and acne!

4 REASONS THE CELERY JUICE CRAZE IS HERE TO STAY

1. LOW IN CALORIES, HIGH IN NUTRIENTS

One glass of celery juice is only around 30-40 calories, but it is rich in vitamins A, K, C and minerals like magnesium, calcium, iron, phosphorus, and potassium. It also contains important phytonutrients that have anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties.

2. RICH IN FLAVONOIDS

Celery is a potent source of special nutritional compounds called “flavonoids” that act as an antioxidant in the body and slash inflammation, prevent chronic disease, and protect the cells from damage.

3. AFFORDABLE AND ACCESSIBLE

Some very attractive perks to drinking celery juice are that it’s inexpensive, simple to make, and easily accessible to pretty much anyone!

4. GREAT FOR HYDRATION

Juicing is a simple and convenient way to consume all of the vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients of celery while staying hydrated (as celery is mostly water!). But it’s important to note that juicing does mean you’re missing out on the valuable fiber you’d get from eating the whole stalk, so ideally, it is best to eat celery in a combination of both juicing and raw food form.

Have you tried drinking a glass of celery juice first thing in the morning on an empty stomach? It’s a great way to start your day with hydration, nutrients, and electrolytes!
