– Use your mind to conjure up how you want to feel.
– Use affirmations to shift your current belief.
– Coming into the present moment gets you out of your head and into what’s happening in the here and now.
– Using a simple three-step process, you can shift your mindset and begin to heal your body!
What does your mindset have to do with your physical ailments?! Mindset is the mind and ailments are physical — totally separate, right?!
Oh, but my loves, they are not at all!
I didn’t ‘get’ the concept of holistic healing until later in my life. And I was pretty skeptical because I grew up in SoCal with a western medicine mentality (mostly treating the body as parts with no connection to mind and heart).
Then I started getting introduced to how powerful our mindset actually is in ALL areas of our lives. The concept sounded pretty freakin’ RAD.
WOOWOO STUFF
In fact, this one time my girlfriend and I were hiking in the gorgeous mountains of Glacier National Park in Montana (if you haven’t been I HIGHLY recommend it!) when I realized I had gotten bit by a little critter and it started to itch A LOT!
At first, I freaked out! Then I remembered that I was learning how much mindset can affect our physical state. So, I thought, “what the heck?!”
I was ready to try this woowoo stuff! After all, we were out in the middle of nowhere with no ointments or anything else to calm the itching. So, I had nothing to lose!
3 STEPS TO SUPERCHARGE YOUR HEALING WITH YOUR MINDSET
Here are the three steps that helped me:
1. ASK YOURSELF
I started to remember what it feels like NOT to itch. I recalled how peaceful and serene I was feeling just moments ago. A great practice is to ask yourself, “How was I feeling?” Happy, elated, blissful, joyful, gratitude, inspired, content…you get the idea!
2. TAP INTO YOUR HEART SPACE & AFFIRM
I then put my hands on my heart and felt the feeling I found in step one to its fullest! As I did this, I told myself, “I am healed.” It sounds so out there — I seriously get it — but it works so well!
3. COME INTO THE HERE AND NOW
I then brought myself into the present moment — the here and NOW. I focused on the beauty of the mountains, the majestic mountain goats and my footsteps on the trail.
Within about three minutes I wasn’t itching!
Insane, right? In the back of my mind, I was thinking that it was probably going to come right back. I then reminded myself that if my internal dialogue was telling my body it wouldn’t heal, it wouldn’t!
So, I kept redirecting my thoughts to feeling what it felt like to be fully well and staying in the present moment.
That was about five years ago, and I have used this positive mindset process time after time to facilitate accelerated healing in my body in conjunction with self-care, food, exercise, and whole food natural supplements.
IN CONCLUSION
By using these three simple steps, you’ll be able to pull yourself into the here and now, create how you truly want to feel and experience that particular moment, and use the power of affirmations to eliminate any pain or irritation. It’s seriously powerful stuff!
If this is a new concept for you, give yourself grace and be patient with the process. Forming new habits can be challenging, but it’s COMPLETELY doable and worth it!
