What would you do if you weren’t afraid?
Would you quit your job? Become a coach? Confront someone about something? Take that trip across the world or go skydiving?
Fear lets us know we’re doing something outside of our comfort zones, but truthfully we’ll let you in on a little secret.
Greatness was never made in a comfort zone.
Let’s discover how you can let go of fear and grab hold of the only life you have today.
HOW TO EMBRACE AND RELEASE FEAR IN 3 SIMPLE STEPS SO YOU CAN FINALLY LIVE THE LIFE OF FREEDOM YOU DESERVE
You can’t get rid of fear. You can’t stop living in fear. Conquering fear happens when you’re able to accept that it’s a part of who you are and embrace it as something that will help you experience success.
Instead of running from fear, face it and embrace it.
ACKNOWLEDGE FEAR
When fear shows up (not if), welcome it into your mind. Invite it in and say, “Welcome, fear. I’ve been expecting you.”
Bring it out into the open instead of trying to push it away. This will help take away its power.
EMBRACE FEAR
Next, it’s time to embrace fear. Wrap it up in your arms. Acknowledge that it has come to teach you something and allow you to grow. Thank the fear for showing up for you.
Fear is used to being shut out and hidden, not embraced. Once you do this, that fear will start to soften, it will lose more power, and you will ultimately disarm it.
During this time, determine what the absolute worst-case scenario would be if you do whatever is making you fearful. Write it down if you need to. Determine if that worst-case scenario is worth the risk. More often than not, you’ll find that it is.
RELEASE FEAR
Once you feel at peace with that fear, release it. Thank it for showing up in order to show you something new. Then, send that fear away.
TAKEAWAY
This simple, three-step exercise will not only help you ease your fears, but it should show you how to disarm them and remove their power altogether.
That way, you can look for the excitement and benefits of trying something new and stepping outside your comfort zone instead of holding back due to fearfulness.
Use fear as a strength, not a hindrance. Once you’re able to master this exercise, you’ll be amazed at how easy it is for you to move beyond your comfort zone and truly create something great.
