The phrase “we’re all in this together” is getting a lot of airtime right now, since it reinforces the message that when everyone does their part to social distance, we save lives and protect our healthcare system for getting overloaded. “Together” includes the ITN faculty members who are also doing their part. How are they weathering social distancing and staying inside?
KATIE WELLS
Katie Wells, Wellness Mama, shares her favorite one-pot recipes – an easy way to get your daily dose of vegetables in. Frozen vegetables are a cheap and easy way to do this, especially if your access to fresh produce is currently limited. If you need some inspiration, one of our favorites – vegan chili – is a great one-pot dish that will feed the whole family.
DR. MIKE DOW
Dr. Mike Dow teaches us the importance of exercise for staying healthy, especially in stressful situations. He reminds us that exercise can be a powerful tool against anxiety, and depression, and brain fog, something everyone is at risk of developing with too much time inside, watching TV or scrolling on social media.
SAGE LAVINE
Sage Lavine, best-selling author and CEO of Women Rocking Business calls you – yes you – to get to work. Old style business structures are not able to withstand the current global crisis, and new leaders are needed to stand up and make a difference. Are you ready to make a bigger impact and help others elevate their businesses?
DR. SHEILA KILBANE
Dr. Sheila Kilbane, board-certified pediatrician, offers a gentle reminder that kids feel what you feel, not what you say. As such, it’s important to try and be a source of strength and comfort during these times. It’s okay if normal schedules are not maintained. Instead, focus on family dinners, game nights, and taking this as an opportunity to connect and spend quality time together.
DAVE ASPREY
Dave Asprey shares his kid’s supplement regimen and why it’s important to provide your immune system with an extra layer of defense right now. Current events can also cause anxiety and stress to spike, so it’s important to look after your mental health just as much as your physical. Our favorite supplements for managing stress can be found here.
JJ VIRGIN
JJ Virgin reminds us that gut health is an important component of immune support and that it takes one to build the other. She also provides some great pandemic approved foods for supporting good gut health.

DR. ALAN CHRISTIANSON
Dr. Alan Christianson talks all things immunity, but also highlights another important point – social distancing does not mean social isolation. Humans are naturally social creatures, so be sure to connect via phone, text, or video with your loved ones during this period.
GINA DEVEE
Gina DeVee provides great advice about how to cope with uncertainty and be a light to others while maintaining power and calm. Despite the world being a scary place right now, she reminds you that there is always a choice between love and fear. If you’re seeking solace right now, here are our favorite tips for meditation.
TAKEAWAY
It is completely normal to feel isolated and alone right now. As humans, even the most introverted of us, enjoy social interaction. The restrictions right now are difficult but necessary, and hopefully when you see others – even your favorite ITN faculty member doing their part – you don’t feel as lonely. What other ways are you curbing isolation right now?
