– Specific tools and practices can strengthen your intuition.

– A strong intuition will help you to make personal and professional decisions with ease.

– Here are a sneak peek of the practices listed below: meditation, journaling, training your intuition, learning from the past, aligning with your values, and many more.

Let’s give some credit where credit is due! To that good, old intuition!

The voice that never waivers or leaves your side, and always has your best interest in mind!

Call it a gut feeling, a divine nug, or an unshakable knowing — it all boils down to the guiding force within, your intuition!

Think back to the last big personal or professional decision you had to make. Take your time, no rush!

Did you feel nudged in one direction? Did one decision felt better, more calming, and all around more natural? Sometimes our intuition can be a strong, overwhelming sense. Other times, it’s the quiet, subtle voice that we have to tune in to hear.

One thing is for certain, your intuition is always there, and it always will lead you to greener pastures and to more flow.

Just like you gotta workout that amazing body of yours (and yes, you have a beautiful body!), you also have to work out your intuition muscle.

Here are some ways to get that intuition “pumped” so it’s strong and easy to lean on when you need it most!

YOUR WORKOUT GUIDE FOR A STRONG INTUITION

MEDITATION

Meditation is beneficial for many aspects of health and wellness (as you probably already gathered). There are several states of consciousness and meditation supports the alpha state and the intuitive process.

Getting quiet and listening for that inner voice of knowing is a great way to enhance your intuition and gain a clear understanding of which voice to follow.

JOURNALING

Allow yourself to freely write without judgment or thought about what you are writing. Come back later and reflect on the message that came up.

If you feel awkward journaling or don’t know where to begin, start with this sentence, “I read in an ITN article that prompted me to journal to connect with my inner dialogue and intuition…” and then let the rest flow.

The more you journal and the more time you commit to doing it, the easier it will become.

NOTICE ALL THAT YOU CAN WITH FIVE SENSES

Spend time each day tuning into your body and noticing one sense at a time. Ask yourself, “What do I feel/hear/smell/taste/see?”

Paying attention to your environment through the senses stimulates the six sense (the most important one!) — your intuition!

REFLECTING ON YOUR DREAMS

You know all those crazy dreams you wake up puzzled (and sometimes laughing) about? Pay attention to them!

During sleep, the cognitive mind rests and opens space for the subconscious mind to dream. Often your intuition likes to play a role in this process. Use your dreams as a prompt for journaling. You may be amazed at what comes up!

TRUST YOUR “HUNCHES”

If you have a feeling (you know that old familiar gut feeling) about something that might happen in the future or have a sense about someone or something, write it down and check back later to see how often you are right.

SPEND TIME IN NATURE

Being away from technology and the distractions of daily life will enhance the senses and stimulate our protective intuition.

Plus, Mama Nature knows how to make us feel super connected. Go ahead, try lying on the ground and feel the energy of the earth.

Just like you recharge your phone, you need to recharge your body too.

RELEASE YOUR RESISTANCE

Trust your intuitive instincts rather than talking yourself out of what you feel. Keep following those good feelings!

Notice the resistance and see how you can learn from it. The more you practice this, the easier it will become to trust your inner guidance.

TRAIN YOUR INTUITION

There are many self-help books and resources on how to recognize and develop your intuition. There are also many formal training programs to explore your intuition.

Just as you educate your mind, devote time to training and strengthening your intuition!

SENSE PEOPLE BEFORE YOU GET TO KNOW THEM

See what you can learn by observation before talking to people. The more attentive you are to their energy, the more you will know things that couldn’t be known with the cognitive mind.

This is a really fun exercise! Play with it and be amazed at what you discover!

LEARN FROM THE PAST

Think about any negative experiences and the feelings, visions, or dreams that may have occurred before the event.

Did you trust them or ignore them? The more you pay attention to warning signs, the more you will begin to trust them.

Remember not to dwell on the past. It is simply there to help you learn and grow!

FEEL DON’T THINK

The cognitive mind thinks whereas intuition feels. See if you can tell the difference between thinking or feeling.

ALIGN WITH YOUR VALUES

Experience how you feel when you steer away from what is important to you, and you will learn what intuition does NOT feel like.

On the other hand, explore your feelings when you follow your values, and you will sense and notice your intuition light up!

ASK A QUESTION AND LISTEN FOR THE ANSWER

When faced with making a decision, find a quiet place to reflect and ask yourself what you should do.

Try to do this daily and begin to feel your intuition awaken!

Now you have a solid workout plan for “pumping” up your intuition and giving it the strength to guide you in any situation. Commit to these exercises and practices to lead a more intuitive, heart-centered life, personally and professionally.

It won’t take long before you start saying, “Well, my intuition is telling me…”

Have you used any of these tools before? If so, tell us which ones below!
